What’s New for CPA Members

New Coverage Option:

Cyber Security and Privacy Liability Coverage

Cyber liability is one of the fastest growing areas of risk, and healthcare professionals are not immune. If you are participating in the CPA insurance program, your individual professional liability insurance includes $50,000 of Cyber Privacy Liability coverage. This means that you already have some protection for claims arising out of lost or compromised electronic patient information. This money is earmarked to pay for damages legally awarded to patients affected by such a data breach.

HOWEVER a data breach is expensive and can potentially cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars. Some of these costs are for damages awarded to the patient(s) involved, but other expenses can quickly add up.

Protect yourself with a comprehensive Cyber Security and Privacy Liability policy. In addition to liability for damages, coverage is provided for:

  • Investigative costs;
  • Notification and response costs;
  • Regulatory defence costs and penalties;
  • and more.

You can purchase the Cyber Security and Privacy Liability coverage as an individual for a premium of $75.00 or for your business (quote is dependent on your total revenue). For more information please click here.

You can apply for coverage independently using the application below or for your organization during the purchase or renewal of your Clinic Business Package.
